1st August 2010...
Taekwondo Championship at International Youth Centre...
We managed to bring home :
1 gold medal
2 silver medals
6 bronze medals
Congrats to all my team members... =P
Thanks to all my coaches - Sir Victor, Sir Eu Gene and Ms Darshini - for being so supportive! Luv u lots! =P
Such a nice start of de month =P
It all started like this...
I was suppose to wake up at 6am in de morning...
But I think I woke up at 6.15am?? Haha
Then I get ready and all...
We were supposed to gather at sch at 7am...
SO I reached sch at 7am, Aina, Mel and Pn Laila were already there...
Yen Lin and I reached at de same time...
SO we started changing our tshirts...
Haha by de way, our own designed tkd tshirt has caught lots of attention! Yay =P
Told u it looks cool...
While changing and waiting for Aina in de teacher's toilet...
( Yes, we're using teacher's toilet.. It's de nearest... Our toilets r too far away and way too creepy with no one in sch...)
Mel and I were freezing cold...
After we're done, we went into teacher's car..
However, we have to wait for Cik Nazatul...
She was LATE! Overslept...
We waited in de car from 7.10 till 7.43...
Haha I remembered saying
"we wait till 7.45.. If still haven't come, we terpaksa leave Cik Nazatul... Cos we need to practice!!"
All Pn Laila and Mel did was.. LAUGH...
Ok, so.... Cik Nazatul came at 7.43....
And off we go...
At de beginning, Aina was complaining that it's hot...
But when we reached, all of us were super cold...
When we entered de centre, it was even worst...
It's freezing in there... Pn Laila was like
"Ha, Aina lar ni.. Tadi kata panas, sekarang saya dah rasa sejuk ni..."
THen me and Mel purposely add in, "ya lar... AINA!!"
Hahahaha... Then Aina made this innocent face...
We waited outside de hall... Then one by one, de rest came, get their tshirts...
Mel introduced us to this guy from her centre called Rong Zhen...
He's a year younger than us...
WHen it's time to go in.. Mel made him help us carry de Disney princess bag!!!
AHAHAHAHAHA it was so funny..
Every1 staring at us only... =P
I think that's it for de morning journey...
I joined 2 events...
Team pattern and sparring..
Sir Victor is one of de judges for pattern and referee 4 sparring..
For team pattern, I teamed up with Iman N. and Aina~
Sir Eu Gene kept on asking me whether I'm nervous..
Haha... How am I gonna ans that =P
After de first 2 rounds, (every team must do 2 times)
Sir Eu Gene said it was good..
But he reminded us to do it slowly..
Actually he repeated that a lot of times...
Our team was selected as top 3!!
Mind u, we're de only girls team...
De rest r either all boys or mixed...
& de best part is, all 3 teams were draw!
We have same scores! Hahahahaha
So we have a 3rd round...
We almost get silver.. but cos Aina was too nervous, we did it too fast...
Sorry Sir Eu Gene...
Therefore, we ended up 3rd...
Our scores ONLY differ by 0.1 points with 2nd place... and 0.2 points with 1st place...
So, it's ok.. be proud... =P
Good enough for a first-timer...
We never joined pattern b4...
Sparring??? Our first time entering sparring which allowed head kicking...
Usually we go for MSSD which doesn't allow kicking head...
But ooh well... Every1 has their first time...
It was not that bad after all... For guys, yea.. It was scary...
But for girls, it's de not so ganas till can faint type..
Sir Victor trained us in sch... SO we're quite prepared..
Then when it was about to be our turn,
Sir Eu Gene and Ms Darshini trained us..
Or shall I say warm us up...
Firstly, Ms Darshini used targets to make us kick...
Soon, Sir Eu Gene asked me to spar with him..
I didn't dare to kick him cos he wasn't wearing any protection guards...
But he insisted... He said it's to overcome my fear...
"If u dare to fight with me, when u step into de ring, de opponents r nothing"
So yea.. I kicked him.. But I kinda can't control my strength...
So.. Sorry yea Sir Eu Gene... It must be painful... His hand was injured...
I hope I didn't accidentally kicked his hand...
While sparring with him, he taught me alot of useful techniques...
Ok.. So, after me was Aina's turn... SHe was scared too.. HAHA
After that, we went back to our seats...
We sat there, watching de guys sparring...
Cos we're seating beside their ring...
When Nicholas Chong was about to spar...
He made all those movements that makes Mel annoyed...
haha.. like for ex, praying while kneeling down on de mat, u noe, de 1 usually saw on tv...
Being so dramatic there....
U should see his opponent's reactions...
De face was like"Wat de hell?"
Haha... Nicholas won that match... As usual..
Soon, it was Simer's turn, she got kicked really badly... twice on her head..
De 2nd kick almost hit her eye..
SO she said, better not take de risk and juz give up...
She dun wanna lose her eye...
So yea..
THen it was my turn...
Unexpectedly I shouted at de beginning..
So funnnnny...
I kicked de girl like mad....
But din reach her head..
She punch my face.. Which was not allowed...
We got a draw.. But I think there's not enough time for round 3...
So they discussed who should win n all...
I looked at Darshini, she smiled...
Eu Gene was there, he showed me thumbs up...
but... I lost... =(
But it's ok lar... I've tried my best...
All my coaches said it was a very good fight..
So close to win de match...
I almost cried... But yea... Somehow they made me feel better...
I got a bronze.. again....
Everytime also bronze... Sad lar...
At de end, it was prize giving ceremony...
Our team was sitting 2gether with all of Sir Victor's students...
SO we're like.. kind of de most noisy ppl there...
Iman, Aina and I was sitting in front, 2gether with Mel and her frens such as Rong Zhen, Zen Zuan and Nicholas Chong... Well, that's all that I can remember.. De rest, I dunno their names..
haha... Ooh ya.. That reminds me of how much Iman misses "kelly".. =P
SO when any of us go up on stage to get our medals, there will be cheering and clapping...
Only our group there cheered for each other...
N Mel's part was epic...
She was forced to hold her "best fren's" hand...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
THen it was photo time...
Then we began packing up and get ready to leave..
Here comes de funny part....
Mel used my camera 2 take photos for Rong Zhen and Zen Zuan...
After she finished taking photos, she told me to upload it on fb.. She'll tag them...
Then, here's de convo..
Zen Zuan : Add me on fb k??
Me : (Juz stared at him with an expression I dunno how 2 describe)
Mel : Eyh, Zen Zuan! Wat r u trying to do huh?
Zen Zuan : (looks at me) Remember to add me ah? U dun like me also nvm, but add me on fb k???
All of us : (laugh but sum ppl laughed hysterically)
Then here comes Sir Victor...
Sir Victor : Eyh Mun Yee, by any chance, r u related to him (Zen Zuan) ah??
Me : (Shocked) No no no no no (shakes head and hand gesturing 'no')
Sir Victor : Well, I hope not ah.. (laugh)
Every1 : (Laugh and laugh and laugh)
THe end... haha
So epic...
Later, we started leaving...
Then Sir Victor was like "eyh, your 100 plus"
I think Mel drank that b4.. I dunno..
But I took it home...
We carried all our "luggage" to Pn Su's car...
Pn Su fetched us (Iman, Aina, Yen Lin and me) back to sch...
On de way home, there's this part where Iman started talking rubbish..
Iman : So teacher, where r u fetching us for dinner?
Pn Su : Huh? Since when did u all planned that? I dunno also
Then all of us laughed.. EXCEPT.. Yen Lin...
Aiya.. How to make that girl laugh... Must communicate...
We need time to ber-bond bond abit... Haha
Ooh ya, Pn Su fetched me to de t-junction... =P
In conclusion, it was a wonderful experience...
N this event had proved that our coaches actually cared about us..
So.. yea, we went back with a smile??
And also blue blacks everywhere...
My whole body is like infected with blue blacks... Hahahaha
Same goes to Aina...
But it's normal for us...
Who ask us 2 be de fighters???? HAHAHAHAHA
