We did this experiment under respiratory system..
Straws as trachea, de part which is divided into 2 is de bronchus, de balloons is de lungs, de gold base is de diaphragm... De bottle is for de thoracic cavity~
See how de balloons deflated when I pushed de diaphragm up?
It is cause by de high pressure in de thoracic cavity..
This represents exhalation~
See how de balloons inflated when I pulled down de diaphragm??
This shows de low pressure in de thoracic cavity...
De low pressure in de thoracic cavity will cause de higher atmospheric pressure to press down de air into de straws, all de way into de balloons....
De ice-cream sticks represents de backbone, stanum, and rib cage...
De rubberbands represents de internal intercostal muscles n de external intercostal muscles....
This shows that de external intercostal muscles r relaxing when de internal intercostal muscles contract
This is de opposite~ De external intercostal muscles contract while de internal intercostal muscles relax~
